Alliance Cup in Naples, FL

While the majority of our B1 USA teams were participating in the Bazooka pre-thanksgiving Tournament, our U12 and U13 Girl teams converged to Naples to participate in the Alliance Cup 2020 last weekend.

As you already know, the Girls have impressed us week after week with incredible performances. Last weekend, the girls had the chance to confirm their strengths and continue in the same vein.

The U12 girls started the tournament in a rough way, losing 2-0 against a well-known rival Florida West FC. The girls were taken by their opponents but did not played bad overall.

The bitter taste of that loss woke the girls up and helped them in overcoming the next rival, Davie United Sharks.

In that game the girls moved the ball in a better way and had the ball possession the majority of the time, the end score was 2-0.

In the third game, the girls had to win or tie to reach the finals. The faced Weston FC in a nail-biting game, with a lot of action, but ended up with no goals, the game was a tie, in the favor of our B1 girls!

In the final, the girls faced Florida West FC once again. It was a really close game; both teams played well and showed interesting plays.

Unfortunately, the opposition found the net once and our girls didn’t have the chance to put the ball in the back of the net. However, we are very proud of them!

Competing against U14

The U13 Girls were up for a challenge last weekend. They decided to compete in a higher category, in this case, U14 to try and perform against higher leveled teams.

In their first game, the girls showed a bit of difficulty against a strong South Miami team, and couldn’t overcome their opponent, losing 1-2.

The second game went way better; the girls played smoother and were able to create some plays, winning 3-1 against the Heat Strikers FC.

In the third game, the girls needed a win if they hoped to reach the finals, and that is exactly what happened as they dominated Parkland which is 15th in the country, and won 3-1. What a pleasure!

The final was a really close game against South Miami. Both South Miami and our girls played really consistently and were able to score once, tying up the game until the end of the game.

A penalty shootout was going to decide who was going to be champions. Our B1 goalie was able to save two penalties, which is exceptional, but it wasn’t enough. The end result after the penalties was 3-2 in favor of the opposition.

Our girls find a second place in the tournament but the first place in our hearts. Congratulation and well played girls. Amazing job at Alliance Cup!
