B1 Girls at the Sarasota Cup

Last weekend our B1 USA teams have participated in the weekly tournaments once again. In fact, the different teams participated in two different tournaments, the Sarasota Cup and the Miami Cup & Showcase.

In this 9th annual edition of the Sarasota Cup, our beloved U10 & U12 Girls showed up at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch.

The U10 Girls fight until the last game!

The U10 girls that always give their everything on the field played their first game on Saturday 24th April against Braden River. The girls were not completely in the game mentally as they were lacking a bit of focus in the defensive phase.

Despite having several occasions on the rival side of the field, the girls failed to find the back of the net multiple times. Despite their efforts, the girls came up short as the opposition were more offensively efficient, end score 1-3.

Their second game faced the girls to Cape Coral. The girls tried their best but were not on their best day to outperform the opposition. Unfortunately, Cape Coral scored 3 goals to nothing. Great effort by the girls despite the end result.

Their third and last game faced them to Lakeland Tropics. This time, we could feel a change in their way of playing. The girls were dominating the rivals since the first minutes of the game. Offensively they were able to find the back of the net multiple times without conceding any, end score 4-0!

The U12 Girls strong performance!

The U12 Girls also came to Lakewood ranch to fight for their team. Their first game faced them to Lakeland Tropics, and the game appeared to be more or less balanced between both teams. Both sides created occasions and were able to conclude, the final result was 2-2.

Afterwards, the girls played against Tampa Bay in another close game. This time around, neither of the teams was able to find the back of the net despite the many occasions created. The result is surely not disappointing as Tampa Bay had a quality team and the effort put out by our girls was amazing.

Finally, in their third game the girls faced Nona Soccer Academy. The game was probably the most challenging of the three as the opposition was high pressuring the ball.

Anyways, our girls were able to cope with that pressure and still try to play their way. Unfortunately, one little mistake from our defence led to a goal from the rivals, end score 0-1

Well played to every player and Coach who assisted to the Sarasota Cup last weekend!

See you soon #B1 Family
